Bermuda yacht registration is administered by the Bermuda Shipping and Maritime Authority. The Bermuda Ship Register is a member of the Red Ensign Group of ship registries. Such vessels enjoy the protection of
the United Kingdom and owners can seek the support of British embassies and consulates.

Registration Requirements
Bermuda registers vessels of any type, age or size provided that they meet the required standards.
Ownership of a Bermuda registered yacht must be divided into 64
shares which are, themselves, indivisible. A majority of these shares must be owned by qualified persons.
These include British Citizens, territorial citizens, corporations registered in the UK, EU, Bermuda, and certain other specified
countries such as the United States.
Recording Methods
The Bermuda registry has provisions for the recording of vessel mortgages.
Registration Search
Transcripts of registry showing ownership, liens, mortgages,
and vessel particulars can be obtained from the Bermuda registry office. In order to obtain a transcript, the owner or
a representative should
email a request to registry@bermudashipping. The cost of this transaction is $140.00.
On a vessel leaving the register, the registrar should be requested to issue a closed transcript.
