Boat registration and title records in Nevada are maintained in a database administered by the Department of Wildlife (NDOW). Access to the database is made available for boat owners and the general public. This summary will provide some insights on how to lookup and request boat registration, title or historical records in the State of Nevada.
Online Access
The State of Nevada does not provide online access to boat registration and title records for the general public. Although it does offer an online portal where boat owners can view and renew their registration and title data. In order to do so, however, the owner must first establish an account.
Telephone Access
The Nevada NDOW may confirm the presence of a boat hull identification number in the database system and verify a registration or title certificate in hand by telephone. However, it will not likely provide other detailed information. NDOW contact information is available in the Referrals.
Boat Record Request Form
Boat registration, title and historical data is available from the Nevada NDOW by submitting a record request form. Information and how and where to submit the request is listed on the form. Requesters will be notified within five days of any required fees or additional requirements.
Historical Records
Historical and archived boat registration or title records are available from the Nevada NDOW with the records access information provided in this page. However, boat records are not maintained indefinitely.
Bulk Records
Boat registration records in Nevada may be available as bulk downloads to certain qualified entities. Contact the NDOW for more information.
Nationwide System
The State of Nevada participates in the Vessel Identification System which is administered by the U.S. Coast Guard. This is a nationwide database wherein most states contribute boat registration data in real-time. Access is only available, however, to law enforcement agencies and other governmental institutions. Anyone concerned about a boat that may have been stolen, abandoned, involved in an incident or is being utilized for illicit activities in state jurisdictional areas should contact a local enforcement agency or boat registration office.
This information is subject to change and should be confirmed with the respective agency.
